Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA)

Single LPA Property and Financial Affairs or Health and Welfare £350 + registration fee

Single LPA Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare £500 + registration fee

Couple one type £450 + registration fees

Couple both types £600 + registration fees

Please note that the registration fees are payable to the Office of the Public Guardian and are currently set at £92 per registration.

The price quoted includes:

Meeting with you to discuss your requirements either by Teams video call, at my office in Longridge, Preston or alternatively at your home if this is within a 20 mile radius of the office (additional travel costs may be charged for travel outside of a 20 mile radius)

The drafting of your Lasting Power(s) of Attorney.

Acting as your Certificate Provider to confirm that you have the necessary capacity and understanding to create the Lasting Power(s) of Attorney.

A second face-to-face meeting with you, if required, to attend to the signing and witnessing of your Lasting Power(s) of Attorney.

Liaising with your chosen attorneys, if required, to arrange the signing and witnessing of the appropriate sections of your Lasting Power(s) of Attorney.

Attending to the registration of the Lasting Power(s) of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Storage of your Lasting Power(s) of Attorney once registered and up to 3 certified copies of each Lasting Power of Attorney. Additional charges may be incurred if more than 3 certified copies of each Lasting Power of Attorney are required.

 

Court of Protection

Application to the Court of Protection for a Deputy to be appointed (non-contentious) from £600 + Court fee and any other disbursements such as the experts fee for completing the COP3 form.

Please note that the Court fee payable on making an application to the Court of Protection is currently set at £421.

The price quoted includes:

Meeting with you to discuss your requirements either by Teams video call, at my office in Longridge, Preston or alternatively at your home provided that this is within a 20 mile radius of the office (additional travel costs may be charged for travel outside of a 20 mile radius)

Drafting of the relevant Court forms and assistance with arranging completion of the COP3 Capacity Assessment form by a suitable medical professional (please note that the medical professional will usually charge a fee for completion of this assessment which is often in the region of £1,000).

Submission of the application to Court, including complying with all Court directions, where the matter is not contested.

Please note that additional charges will be incurred where the matter becomes contested or for ongoing assistance such as completion of the annual report to the Court.

There is often a requirement for appropriate insurance to be taken out and the cost of this can vary significantly. This is a disbursement payable from the funds of the person subject to the order and as such is payable in addition to my costs as quoted above.
